What will your day look like?

You will be responsible for the deployment of new data sources and/or changes to existing data sources. The incumbent will enable enterprise data strategies for implementation, integration and usage. Work involves, writing data policy, maintaining business glossary and writing business requirements documentation. The Senior Data Governance Analyst is responsible for the analysis and documentation of technical requirement. Position will interact with business and technology stakeholders and will effectively resolve issues arising from operations.


Do you see yourself doing this?

  • Responsible for defining data quality standards and rules to ensure data is compliant with defined quality requirements within assigned domains
  • Promote participation and buy-in for data governance activities throughout the organization including recruiting, cultivating and developing data stewards throughout the organization
  • Partner with data architecture to develop data dictionary
  • Responsible for writing and maintaining data policies, standards and procedures
  • Build out business glossary
  • Elicit and document technical requirements using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, and/or other means
  • Develop user stories and break down requirements into deliverable functionality
  • Analyze business problems and identify solutions that meet business goals
  • Analyze application and business domain data requirements and business rules, understanding the data flow from source to screen; develop and present recommendations derived from analysis
  • Partner with the various software development and technical services groups on the technical design and development process ensuring business requirements are understood and delivered
  • Negotiate and communicate priority for new features and capabilities
  • Work directly with product owner, business stakeholders, designers, developers, and engineers to coordinate the delivery of data sources on time
  • Works with metadata management, with specific focus on business content tied to Data Dictionary and Business Glossary components.
  • Ensures data quality, including comprehensive strategy that results in a proactive approach to identification and resolution of quality issues prior to impacting data consumers


What makes you a great fit?

You’ll be a great fit if in addition to the completion of a Bachelor’s degree (Master’s degree preferred), and 6+ years of relevant experience in a technical support role with strong technical and business acumen, you have:

  • Experience with SQL Server databases
  • Experience with business systems analysis or data analytics / business intelligence requirements gathering
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to simplify complex concepts and messages to the essential components and deliver effective messages to a wide range of audiences
  • Self-starter, well organized, extremely detail-oriented and a highly collaborative team member
