What will your day look like?

You will be responsible for the collection of delinquent mortgages, and consumer loans. Work involves routine difficulty in arranging payment commitments over the phone with delinquent credit union members.  Resources to perform the job include an understanding of collection laws, department policy and regulations related to collection laws such as TCPA/FCRA.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for making a high volume of outbound calls on delinquent member files to arrange payment commitments, and answering inbound calls/emails from internal partners or members
  • Exhibits strong skills at negotiating with delinquent members to avoid further delinquency
  • Assists teammates and handles escalated and second voice calls
  • Follow up with members to ensure timely receipt of accurate, complete documentation and ultimately the success of assistance programs
  • Apply skip trace process to all delinquent files requiring additional information to contact member
  • Participates in new and innovative projects to improve efficient servicing operations and success of strategy

Qualifications

What makes you a great fit?

You’ll be a great fit if in addition to a high school diploma (Bachelor degree preferred) and 3-5 years’ work experience or an equivalent combination of training and experience:

  • Previous experience working in a financial institution
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • A self-sufficient personality and professional demeanor
  • Familiarity with collection laws and regulations in a multistate environment
  • Effective time management, prioritization skills, and ability to work in a team environment
