What will your day look like?

This role will author and revise policies, standards, procedures, and other formal corporate documents necessary for the effective administration of banking operations. Working closely with the product, operations, risk and legal functions of the organization, the incumbent is responsible for delivering concise and uniform statements of governance, controls, and practices required for compliant and prudent lending, deposit and payment account services. In addition, this role will assist with Issues Management when the remediation plan calls for updating or creating policies, standards, procedures, training materials or other process documents, as required. The position requires the ability to translate regulatory and compliance requirements into functional policies, standards, and procedures with appropriate specificity, plain-language style, and uniform voice. The incumbent will also support lines of business by ensuring adherence to a standard style guide and administering a structured content management system sufficient to maintain current policies, standards, procedures and related documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Create technical policy and procedure documentation based on established or newly developed processes that promote efficient and effective operations within the business line and meet compliance requirements
  • Collaborate with Risk functions to develop Policies, Standards and Procedures for Dodd Frank Consumer Protection Act including Fair Lending; UDAAP, SCRA, and other regulatory provisions as required
  • Lead and coordinate the review and approval processes with internal stakeholders
  • Prepare management and board reporting that includes updates and analysis on changes to governance and controls of applicable compliance management programs
  • Work with Issues Management and business partners to remediate regulatory and compliance issues related to Policies, Standards and Procedures
  • Research, collect and recommend regulatory and compliance samples, white papers and industry best practices
  • Design and maintain a User Style Guide and document management architecture including version control, tracking, and digital access through SharePoint
  • Design and maintain a portfolio of procedures templates and develop a framework to map policy and standard requirements with functional procedures
  • Maintain a comprehensive library of technical terminology and documentation
  • Create narrative content, documentation, and workflow processes for technical documents

Qualifications

What makes you a great fit?

You’ll be a great fit if in addition to a Bachelor’s degree in related field and minimum of five (5) or more years’ experience in technical writing or editing required; equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered, and you have:

  • Demonstrated copywriting ability to translate complex business and legal concepts into simple, direct, practical prose and maintain a clear and effective “voice” in business and policy writing
  • Solid understanding of structured writing techniques, templates, style guides, and file management
  • Broad financial services knowledge and industry best practices for continuously improving a proactive Compliance Management System program
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft SharePoint, Adobe Acrobat
  • Strong analysis, project planning, time management, problem solving, and prioritization skills. Project Management certification preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a team and independently
  • Demonstrated ability in taking initiative and manage multiple priorities
  • Potential candidates must submit a sample of their previous work.
