What will your day look like?

You will be responsible for the smooth operation of two of our highly complex, SQL-based financial systems: SAS FM and SunGard’s Bancware. Both products rely heavily on SQL system feeds from our data warehouse as well as from a variety of other source databases. The incumbent will need to be able to create, edit and manipulate SQL data load scripts, operate software data integration tools, and provide data verification ensuring the utmost accuracy and completeness of data. Analyst will manage all software upgrades and new module implementations partnering with cross functional team members to deliver project plans, testing, issue resolution and documentation. A strong interest in the areas of banking, consumer lending and finance is helpful but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Administer the monthly data integration process for all financial systems (SAS FM and SunGard) verifying data is accurate, complete and reliable
  • Develop, manage and execute all system processes necessary for the ongoing repeatability, maintenance and documentation of financial systems ensuring maximum up-time
  • Primary vendor liaison for support upgrades and issue resolutions, coordinating heavily with our I.T. department
  • Responsible for managing the SQL data load scripts which feed our quarterly and annual financial planning (budgeting) process.
  • Execute and manage all SAS FM Administrator-level functions including the data integration layer, security, dimension editing and creation, and disaster recovery processes
  • Manage and oversee any new strategic reporting deliverables both for the finance team and internal business partners
  • Serve as point of contact for escalated reporting; research and guide resolution to satisfaction of all partners and stakeholders
  • Manage and operate the Informatica ETL (Extract, Transform and Load) software as part of SunGard’s data integration process
  • Independently create and maintain data mappings, make configuration changes, and execute monthly and periodic data transformation loads
  • Serve as Primary liaison for support and upgrades working closely with I.T.’s Data Services team
  • Collaborate with Controller group to ensure accuracy of the financial statements and provide analytical support in regards to results and trends
  • Continuously improve and construct new capabilities around performance metric analysis and reporting to track key Alliant financial objectives and targets

Qualifications

What makes you a great fit?

You’ll be a great fit if in addition to the completion of a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Finance or MIS, 4+ years industry experience working with Enterprise Forecasting and Analytic Tools such as Hyperion, SAS or IBM Cognos or experience with Balance Sheet Management software (SunGard BancWare ALM), Oracle Financial Analyzer, or SAP Bank Analyzer and you have:

  • 4+ years of experience in Microsoft Database Modeling and Query Tools (SSMS preferred)
  • Working knowledge of business intelligence reporting tools such as SAP Business Objects, SSRS
  • Familiarity with general Accounting and Finance terminology and processes a plus
  • Experience with documentation/writing technical specs a plus
  • Must establish and implement appropriate quality control when developing and testing solutions in a tightly-regulated financial services company
  • Good organizational, written and oral communication skills
