    What will your day look like?

    You will be responsible for preparing loan files for submission to underwriting primarily for the Home Equity Line of Business. You will review loan documents to ensure they meet the loan conditions set by the Loan Underwriters and verifies the accuracy and completeness of each document. In addition, you will provide support to the first mortgage underwriters.

     

    Responsibilities

    • Ensuring accuracy of the application data for loans by clearing inconsistencies prior to submission to underwriting
    • Collecting required documentation from Loan Originators and following up on missing items
    • Requesting valuation reports, title reports and other necessary documentation per the underwriter’s direction through appropriate 3rd party vendors
    • Analyzing credit, income and collateral documentation submitted for completeness and accuracy to ensure loan eligibility
    • Resolving all system generated identity check alerts by gathering and validating relevant supporting documentation
    • Resolving routine title issues including vesting issues and various liens by working with the member, loan originator and title company
    • Validating and calculating income for non-self-employed borrowers
    • Monitoring first mortgage conditions received from correspondents, reviewing necessary loan documentation and communication from the correspondents and forwarding complete files to the underwriters for review
    • Effectively processing loans from time of receipt in underwriting to submission to closing by coordinating activities amongst the underwriter, loan originator and member
    • Providing the loan originators with timely and periodic status updates of their loan application, as needed
    • Communicating with loan officers, members, title companies, correspondent partners and all other external partners as necessary
    • Maintaining pipeline reports and notifying management of status, as needed
    • Establishing, maintaining, and updating files, databases, records, and/or other documents for recurring internal reports

    Qualifications

    You’ll be a great fit if in addition to the completion of a high school diploma, 2 years of work experience in lending with knowledge basic lending operations and language and real estate contracts, and you have:

    • The ability to analyze and evaluate given information relative to underwriting guidelines
    • Exceptional customer service skills and focus
    • Outstanding organizational skills with ability to multitask in a fast paced environment
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • A professional demeanor, ability to work independently and also collaborate in a group setting
    • Excellent records and file management skills
    • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook
