    What will your day look like?

    You will be responsible for driving user-experience decisions and designing the best possible digital experience for Alliant Credit Union members. In addition, you will drive overall company strategy for digital user experience, focusing on creating practices and processes for helping the organization infuse human-centered design into its digital capabilities.

    You will develop an internal knowledge base and create a learning platform, through which everyone in the company could enhance their understanding of user-centered design, its benefits and impact on the business. Responsibilities include overseeing all elements of the digital user experience design, including: Ideation and Concept development, Information Architecture (IA), Usability, User Testing, User Experience Research, Data Visualization, Analytics & Reporting, Journey Maps and Use Cases. The Senior User Experience Architect will work with the business and technology groups to balance the needs and capabilities of the organization with the best possible member experience.

    Resources to do the job require passion about providing the best user experience through all digital channels and a deep understanding of design, technology and user behavior. You must have a strong vision for how technology and design can create usable, accessible and gratifying user experiences within web and application development, mobile, and other emerging platforms.


    Do you see yourself doing this?

    • Perform primary and secondary research
    • Work collaboratively with the business to develop conceptual solutions
    • Develop journey maps, personas and use cases
    • Perform in-person and remote user testing and usability studies
    • Develop plans for A/B and multivariate testing
    • Gather analytics data and create reports with results of the UX Design solutions
    • Provide the voice of the member/customer throughout the design process
    • Develop the user-centered design strategy for the organization
    • Create user-centered design guidelines and principles and implement user experience best practices for small, medium and large projects
    • Implement a design sprint program to expedite the design process, decreasing time to release new features and enhancements
    • Create a User Experience governance process and structure
    • Develop a User Experience Knowledge Base and learning platform for the organization
    • Build a plan to gradually increase the organizational User Experience maturity and integrate human-centered design principles in the overall company strategy
    • Develop research and user testing methodologies that take into account the organizational goals and resources
    • Uncover and understand user requirements, organization goals, and technical capabilities
    • Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders to educate them in user-centered design best practices
    • Proactively stay up-to-date on trends in User Experience Digital Design as well as in the financial services industry


    What makes you a great fit?

    You’ll be a great fit if in addition to the completion of a Bachelor’s degree in Web Development, Computer Science, Web Design, Interactive Media, Information Sciences, Psychology, Human Factors, Digital Marketing, or related field, 4+ years of design experience and all aspects of digital development required, and you have:


    • Certification from a recognized User Experience authority is a plus
    • Experience leading design and front-end development groups
    • Advanced Human-Centered Design knowledge and design sensibility for interactive projects that put the User Experience first
    • Strong conceptual and problem-solving skills
    • Experience facilitating workshops
    • Meticulous with design details and quality
    • Understanding of responsive design principles and best practices
    • Hands-on experience with front-end development technologies and frameworks including HTML5, CSS, the latest Adobe CS applications, and MS Office Suite
    • Well-developed practice of Agile / SCRUM development process
    • Ability to be flexible in prioritizing work, managing multiple tasks and meeting deadlines 
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills
    • Works well under pressure
    • Experience with content management systems, digital video production and Google Analytics a plus
