In this role, you will support the monitoring and reporting of liquidity risk and interest rate risk within the credit union. Assist in the development of models, analyses, and reports that inform risk management decisions. Work with various teams across the organization to ensure that risks are accurately assessed and communicated to relevant stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Support the development and refinement of the liquidity and interest rate risk management program to align with the credit union’s strategic goals and growth objectives.
  • Collaborate with the Asset Liability Management (ALM) team to provide insights that inform the estimation and management of interest-rate risk and other asset/liability exposures, focusing on optimizing risk-adjusted returns while operating within policy limits.
  • Contribute to the creation of reports and presentations that not only communicate financial performance and risks but also offer strategic recommendations to internal teams and governance committees, driving informed decision-making.
  • Assist in the evaluation of balance sheet management activities, including derivatives transactions, with an eye towards enhancing the credit union’s financial stability and growth potential.
  • Contribute to capital planning and stress testing activities under the guidance of senior team members.
  • Participate in pre-purchase reviews of non-governmental securities in coordination with the credit risk team, ensuring that investment decisions align with broader strategic objectives.
  • Assist in reviewing investment, derivative, and concentration reporting generated by accounting to ensure compliance with policy and standards.

Education:
  • Bachlors Degree - Finance, Economics, Statistics or Related - Minimum
 
Years of Experience:
  • 1 year - Finance, Accounting or Related - Minimum
  • 1 year - Market liquidity, interest rate risk or related - Preferred
 
In Lieu of Education:
  • 4 years - Finance, Accounting or Related

License/Certifications/Training:

  • CFA Candidate - Preferred
