As the VP, Compliance & CCO, you will provide strategic leadership for Alliant's enterprise-wide Compliance Management System (CMS) including programs to assess risk, monitor, audit, and surveillance activities and align compliance operations to the credit union’s overall business strategy. Responsible for maturing the credit union's CMS, consistent with the requirements of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) and other applicable financial institution regulators. Lead the compliance team in their efforts to review, evaluate, update, and manage compliance policies for the credit union, in addition to assist, advise, and train business units and their staff in carrying out their compliance obligations, consumer complaint management and third-party vendor management. Provide executive leadership of compliance reviews of federal/state regulators and serve as the primary liaison with the CFPB.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic direction and thought leadership to develop and mature the Compliance Management System (CMS) ensuring its alignment with the organization's goals and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee the strategic planning and execution of risk assessments and compliance reviews ensuring that policies and controls are robust and effective. Guide the analysis of risk factors and regulatory compliance.
  • Lead the validation of monitoring strategies, identify emerging trends, and drive recommendations for governance improvements.
  • Direct the execution of testing and analysis of key performance indicators to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Oversee root cause analysis for control failures and implement strategic solutions.
  • Ensure the preparation of comprehensive documentation of compliance activities and provide strategic insights to leadership on outstanding issues and the state of the CMS.
  • Lead the management of the credit union’s fair banking/fair lending compliance program and oversee regulatory examinations, ensuring adherence to best practices and regulatory expectations.
  • Ensure the strategic execution of an Anti-Money Laundering (AML) & Sanctions program in compliance with the Bank Secrecy Act.Develop and oversee the execution of a Community
  • Reinvestment Act (CRA) program that meets the requirements of the Illinois CRA, ensuring community engagement and regulatory compliance.
  • Direct compliance due diligence for new institutional partners, ensuring alignment with organizational standards in accordance with the Third Party Risk management program.
  • Serve as a strategic consultant on new products and services, providing high-level compliance input to leadership.
  • Oversee the communication and implementation of changes to regulatory policies and procedures, ensuring organizational alignment.
  • Represent the compliance team during internal, external, and regulatory audits and examinations, providing strategic oversight and guidance.
  • Lead and manage the compliance team, including strategic hiring, performance management, and staff development. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.

 

 

Education
 
  • Bachelors Degree - Business, Finance or Related - Minimum
  • Graduate Degree - Business, Finance or Related - Preferred
 
 
Years of Experience
 
  • 10 Years - Compliance, audit, law contract administration or related - Minimum
  • 3 Years - People Management - Minimum
 
In Lieu of Education:
 
  • 15 Years - Compliance, audit, law contract administration including people management

 

License/Certifications/Training:

 

  • Preferred: Compliance Certification
 

 

Compensation & Benefits:

Typical hiring range:‏‏‎ ‎$224,600‏‏‎ ‎-‏‏‎ ‎$354,650 Annually. Actual compensation will be determined using factors such as experience, skills & knowledge.
