In this role, you will enable enterprise data strategies for implementation, integration and usage of data in a SQL Server database environment. Communicate with business partners, maintain business glossary and enterprise definitions. Implement, maintain, and ensure adherence to enterprise data governance framework for data policies, standards, and practices to achieve the required level of consistency, quality, and protection to meet overall business needs. Work with business and technology stakeholders to effectively resolve issues arising from operations.  

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the review board meetings including preparing the agenda, understanding the access request, articulating the request to the review board, and communicating with the business requestor as well as other individuals such as the SQL Server Database Administrator.
  • Review production extract intake forms to determine the data classification and if they can be approved or routed to the review board.
  • Ensure consistency with data governance, data stewardship and data ownership implementation across business areas and functions.
  • Promote participation and buy-in for data governance activities throughout the organization including recruiting, cultivating and developing data stewards throughout the organization.
  • Participate in developing and maintaining a data dictionary in partnership with other teams such as the data governance team along with data stewards.
  • Works with metadata management, with a specific focus on business content tied to a data dictionary and business glossary components.
  • Maintain and adopt the business data catalog to capture data definitions, and maintain data stewardship, and data standards.
  • Ensure data quality, including a comprehensive strategy that results in a proactive approach to the identification and resolution of quality issues prior to impacting data consumers.
  • Partner with other teams within the business as well as teams within Technology to ensure data flow diagrams are created and maintained.

Education:
  • Graduate Degree - Business or related

 

Years of Experience:
  • 2 years - Technical support, SQL Server database or related - Minimum
 
In Lieu of Education:
  • 5 years - Technical support, SQL Server database or related

 

Compensation & Benefits:

Typical hiring range:‏‏‎ ‎$67,100‏‏‎ ‎-‏‏‎ ‎$94,750 Annually. Actual compensation will be determined using factors such as experience, skills & knowledge.
