In this role, you will underwrite and render loan decisions on consumer loans referred and received. Review applicant credit information and determine and communicate loan decisions in accordance with underwriting and compliance standards, credit union policy and risk tolerance in a high volume, fast paced environment. Ability to analyze and interpret credit information including but not limited to income verifications, tax returns, and collateral valuations. 

Responsibilities

  • Analyzes and makes final approval decisions on RV recreational vehicle and automobile loans received through various lending platforms provided by wholesale lending relationships.
  • Makes recommendations including but not limited to counter offering, restructuring and referring for other credit union products/services within approved lending authority.
  • Underwrites loans by analyzing credit reports, tax returns, pay statements and W2 forms.
  • Grants or declines loans based on policies and guidelines. Manages credit risk standards while balancing the need to originate high loan volumes of performing loans.
  • Handles dealer calls to review loan decisions.
  • Makes recommendations to management on loans outside of appointed lending authority as delegated by the committee in accordance with the credit union loan policy.
  • Develops working relationships with external and internal partners such as indirect lending, dealers, account executives and loan processors and closers.
  • Performs system testing of the wholesale partner’s loan origination systems.

Education:
  • Bachelors Degree - Finance, Business or Related - Minimum

 

Years of Experience:
  • 3 years - Consumer Lending, Wholesale Lending or Related - Minimum
 
In Lieu of Education:
  • 7 years - Consumer Lending Underwriting, Wholesale Lending or Related

 

License/Certifications/Training:

  • Required: Obtain underwriting authority (both direct and indirect) within 90 days of employment start date

 

Compensation & Benefits:

Typical hiring range:‏‏‎ ‎$67,100‏‏‎ ‎-‏‏‎ ‎$94,750 Annually. Actual compensation will be determined using factors such as experience, skills & knowledge.
