In this role, you will manage the daily operations and activities of assigned team(s). Manage and monitor the daily workflow of applications through the system and provide underwriting guidance to staff. Provide direction to team members on work priorities and on resolving operational issues. Leverage resources and knowledge of underwriting policies and procedures, as well as automated lending systems to increase auto decisioning. 

Responsibilities

  • Ensures tasks of assigned staff are completed timely and accurately, in accordance with policies and procedures.
  • Monitors production of staff's tasks to ensure service level expectations are met by performing audits to ensure procedures are followed.
  • Provides training and support for team members by creating updates to underwriting guidelines and procedures.
  • Handles escalated member issues and internal customer concerns as well as responds to inquiries presented via various types of correspondence regarding loan issues.
  • Tests software releases affecting assigned department.
  • Assists team members with daily tasks at times of high volume.
  • Recommends enhancements and changes to guidelines and procedures to the direct systems with a goal of increasing auto decisioning.
  • Translates operating plans into meaningful direction of projects, goals, priorities and activities.
  • Captures, analyzes, and understands the internal environment, team dynamics, and talent capabilities to address organizational refinement, agility and growth.
  • Assesses and provides discerning development, insightful coaching and talent utilization/optimization for direct reports as well as provides performance management practices in leading an engaged workforce in order to effectively leverage the full potential and talent of this function including individual development plans, coaching and feedback.

 

Education:

  • High School or Equivalent - Minimum
  • Bachelors Degree - Business, Finance or Related - Preferred

 

Years of Experience:

  • 3 Years - Consumer Underwriting, Home Equity Underwriting, Direct Lending or Related - Minimum

 

License/Certifications/Training

  • Required - Obtain underwriting authority (both direct and indirect) within 90 days of employment start date

 

Compensation & Benefits:

Typical hiring range:‏‏‎ ‎$76,500‏‏‎ ‎-‏‏‎ ‎$108,050 Annually. Actual compensation will be determined using factors such as experience, skills & knowledge.
