In this role, you will oversee secondary marketing functions and aspects of mortgage loan activities. Establish mortgage programs and pricing to drive income through the use of loan sales and the portfolio. Work with leaders to develop, maintain, and price the portfolio mortgage loan programs. Monitor the mortgage secondary market and establishment of daily mortgage prices/rates used by Alliant and Third-Party Originators (TPOs). Manage the daily risk position and execution of loan deliveries into the secondary market. Develop and implement new saleable secondary market mortgage programs, enhancements or modifications to existing programs. 

 

Responsibilities

  • Direct the secondary markets strategy for first mortgage production to ensure profitability and loan sales production goals and monitor annual income and profitability targets to meet the interest and gain on sale requirements.
  • Assess and develop appropriate levels of redundancy and backup to critical activities.
  • Monitor secondary mortgage and financial markets, agency and non-agency mortgage markets, primary and secondary markets. Focus on bond market and MBS (Mortgage Backed Securities) market and its drivers.
  • Work with teams to determine the annual and quarterly volume forecasts and achieve annual production goals and other objectives through the loan program offerings.
  • Direct and oversee the preparation of the daily mortgage pricing to the MLOs, TPOs and third-party partners. Monitor and adjust mortgage prices when markets fluctuate and communicate regular market updates to management.
  • Monitor the mortgage pipeline hedge/commitment strategy to ensure risk and profitability goals are met.
  • Create and publish position reports to each commitment considering pipeline, inventory, fallout, committed loan pools and expected gain on the sale.
  • Identify loan sales execution strategies aligned with portfolio needs, target profitability and risk. Oversee mortgage loan sales and coordinate with delivery, servicing and accounting.
  • Oversee loan registration and lock process, approve loan changes, lock extensions, escalated pricing exceptions, special terms, and similar requests.
  • Serve as a primary contact with Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac and private investors and serve as primary secondary contact for third party fulfillment providers.
  • Oversee pricing software, support updates to loan programs, investor eligibilities, systems setups, and other maintenance while staying current with market-driven programs or enhancements to existing loan programs.
  • Lead and oversee the preparation and distribution of management reports and deliverables from secondary markets.
  • Lead training for mortgage lenders on secondary markets, loan programs, registrations/locks, pricing, and mortgage loan origination. Coordinate and communicate loan program and guideline changes to loan production and operations.
  • Plan, oversee and lead the work of the team to meet functional and individual operational objectives and goals. Coach, mentor, and develop staff, including overseeing new employee onboarding and providing career development planning and opportunities. Responsible for hire, fire, performance, discipline and problem-resolution decisions.

Education:
  • Bachelors Degree - Finance, Communications, Marketing or Related - Minimum
 
Years of Experience:
  • 7 Years - Mortgage, Capital Markets, Secondary Markets or Related - Minimum
  • 10 Years - Mortgage, Capital Markets, Secondary Markets or Related - Preferred
  • 3 Years - People Management - Minimum
  • 5 Years - People Management - Preferred
 
 
In Lieu of Education:
  • 12 years - Mortgage, Capital Markets, Secondary Markets including People Management

 

 

 

Compensation & Benefits:

Typical hiring range:‏‏‎ ‎$113,000‏‏‎ ‎-‏‏‎ ‎$159,550 Annually. Actual compensation will be determined using factors such as experience, skills & knowledge.
